Introducing
Southwind is an acoustical musical group that combines the talent
and artistry of four Florida musicians. Southwind’s sound
is an eclectic blend of close harmonies and unique arrangements featuring
traditional, contemporary and original songs.
Southwind has performed in concerts throughout Florida, pleasing
crowds of young and old. Performances include the Florida Folk Festival,
City of Clearwater Concert Series, Palm Harbor Arts, Crafts and Music
Festival, Saint Augustine Folk Festival, Florida State Fair, Radio and
Television and numerous concerts throughout the state. Southwind has
appeared and recorded with several well known Florida artists.
Mary Ann DiNella
(vocals and guitar) has performed in the Tampa Bay Area for over 15 years
as a professional musician. Her lead vocals and intricate finger-picking
guitar add a refreshing touch to the groups selections.
Sandra Jemison (vocals and bass) is a veteran singer and bass player,
who has played in Florida’s Green Grass Revival and numerous other
groups. Her solid bass playing and singing has made her a much sought-out
musician in Florida’s folk scene. Her soulful vocals and strong acoustic
bass add dimension to the group.
Sharon Naumann, (vocals, autoharp, bowed psaltery) sings high harmony and lead vocals. Sharon’s love of folk music and traditional instruments add a special quality to make up the third part of the ladies’ harmonies. Sharon’s unique folk instruments enrich Southwind’s musical dimension.
Dennis Devine, (lead guitar,
mandolin, fiddle, and vocals) provides the strong rhythm and embellishment
to add blues, folk, bluegrass and popular music to the group. Dennis has
produced many concerts and has performed with numerous artists and groups
throughout Florida and the Southeast.
Together, these musicians make up Southwind, creating this rare
